Another bike on the way

Well it's not a Hyosung but i suppose i have to be flexible if i want my little business to work.

I'm going to collect a Kawasaki GPZ500S this morning, 1990 but registered in the UK in 1995. Been stood for a while due to owners health but did run fine apparently. When i get it back and have a look i'll then decide if it's get it road legal or parts. I'll get some pics up later.

Well here she is...lots of paperwork with her. She has been stood for 2 years but i am told she was running perfect before that....we will see....guy seemed genuine but don't they all.

Anyway i plan to get a battery for her, drain the fuel and clean the carbs to see if she runs. If all good then i will give her a major clean up, plugs and oil change, sort the sticking brakes then see what she needs for the MOT.





Really need a workshop manual for this.

That bike looks very attractive Paul. I looks to me more like a seller than a breaker but who knows? I am guessing that there aren't all that many people wanting spares since those Kawasakis were very sound bikes in their day and the majority would have been scrapped already. I seem to recall a website which you can visit to check to see how many of a certain model of vehicle are still taxed but I don't recall where I saw it. I am guessing that information like that could be useful for you to know whether a certain model of bike is worth breaking? ( ie if there are lots on the road, people will need spares)

Well i am hoping it's a seller. Spent all day yesterday stripping the carbs, draining the coolant and the fuel tank. Everything was gummed up with stale fuel but now looking much better.
I am expecting a battery delivery today so i am going to attempt to get her going before i do anything else. If she runs i then need to sort out the front sticking caliper, the forks need doing as the seals look perished and then just a bit more tidying.
