Re: New Bike for Bazza
Shit Baz, sorry to hear about the accident!!! Like someone else said, any crash you walk away from is a good one! Bikes can be replaced and bones heal!!
Hope you get a bike sorted soon, if you haven't already!!!

Re: New Bike for Bazza
UPDATE
Well it's been a long time since I had anything to report ............ until now that is
After a long , hard slog since I returned to work last year , I have FINALLY managed to get my beloved little 650R back on the road
To be fair , due to the fact it took me quite a while to get back onto an even keel money wise ( after 4 months on the sick after the crash , my finances were in tatters ).... it took me ages to get motivated into actually working on the bike .
So I would do stuff in my dinner breaks at work for a week or so and then do nothing for the next few weeks ............
Anyway to re-cap what was wrong with my Hyo ........ the swingarm had rotted through from the inside and had a HUGE hole in it and so needed replacing ( by the time I removed it , there was more and the metal was wafer thin ) .
[img][/img]
To do this however involved removing the rear shock and also the rear exhaust downpipe ( which was going to prove a major headache in itself due to the rotten state of the exhaust studs ).
I had bought a used swingarm but this was also starting to rust and so had to be completely stripped , sanded , rust proofed , primed and re-painted ( the pic was taken at the start )
To cut a long story short ....... The swingarm has now been swapped and my little 650R has also been MOT'd , Taxed and Insured , having been SORN for almost 2 years
SOOO ................. BAZZA IS BACK

Re: New Bike for Bazza
Well , it's been quite a while again since I posted anything on here .............. so
the 650 is still going strong after passing another MOT earlier this year with the only advisory being a noisy exhaust ( the MOT station I use puts that on EVERY MOT where the bike has a none standard exhaust/can on just to cover his arse ).
Had a little trip '' dahn sarf '' to see my old mate NewbyMick ....... Mick started his Hyosung life on an '04 plate 650 Comet , then upgraded to an '07 plate GT650R ( same as mine .... year , colour etc . ) but these are both long gone now , replaced by a brace of Honda VFR750's , a Honda CBF1000 and now a Harley Davidson Street 750 .
Covered a distance of just under 800 miles over a weekend ( Friday 'til Monday ).
The bike never missed a beat even when carrying all my luggage ...... I think I got carried away
Recently went for a bimble with NickC too ........... didn't get any pics though but Nick's orange GT650R is GORGEOUS and with the baffles out our exhaust cans ( both Nick and myself have MTC cans ) the sound was awesome .
Courtesy of Facebook and the UK Hyosung Owners Club ..... I did find some pics from that ride as we met up with a fellow Hyo rider Marcel Forest
That put another 200 miles on the clock but was also the last time I went out on the bike ..... due mainly to an accident at work ( I know I'm accident prone ) but that's another story
