Hi everybody, just joined the site today, I have a Yellow Hyosung gt650 2006  am just in the process of adding a black stripe down the tank and the tail, I will post photos when done wont be long. I lifted the tank to change the plugs, the tank was full of fuel slipped off and dented against garage wall. It took my a few hours to get the dent out with a piece of bent pipe down the fuel filler hole .After that I couldnt get the Mango Yellow paint so painted a black stripe down the tank. I must say it has actually improved the look, I will take some pics in the next couple of days. For paint touch up purposes the best match I have found , not perfect but good enough for me  is Ford Focus Tangerine Scream ,quite a mouthful:)   I have changed the Monoshock for a YSS but to be honest there is not a lot of difference. My old Shock is advertised on Ebay at the moment if anyone is interested its priced at £52 inc dely ono. its only done 10,000  km. or 6000 miles.
Best John

Welcome! Creative thinking on the black stripe - I had a Suzuki SV650 with the central 'sport' stripe, are you doing something like that? Looked good....

Welcome mate, sorry to hear about the tank, but sounds like you managed to cover it up okay! I've got a non running bandit 400 with a white stripe down the tank!

Happy riding and welcome to the happy world of Hyosung!

I have dropped a tooth on the front sprocket a common mod. I understand , also it has an MTC can (will show in pics when I post em)thats supposed to give more torque. Is quite perky now, enjoy riding it more than my Bandit 1200 I just sold to pay my Council tax and Water bill £1800:)

I think that shows everything also put a Hugger on it, and some chrome mirrors, originals are horrid:) And added the fly screen ,new front tyre..( the old tyre was older than the bike and was cracked and dangerous even though legal on tread) I fit the crash bobbins too.Over winter I had the front and back wheels out treated the scabby paint it had with Kurust after wire brushing and then painted, used heat resistant Silver engine paint obviously . Added tail stripes yesterday. It has heated grips one not working havent looked at that yet. Didnt put the stripe on the front mud guard, I think it might be overkill , not sure about that, comments  invited ?
One problem I had was trouble locating neutral when at rest, while tidying paint work up over winter noted that the circlip that holds the gear lever in position on the stub shaft at the back of the footpeg bracket was missing , so it was free to slide about laterally, is now restrained from movement side to side, much better now, might be worth others checking the circlip is not missing if they have a problem with gear selection, just a thought.

I agree - stripe as painted is right, doesn't need the front mudguard too.

I was planning new mirrors this year - are they just standard 'japanese' threaded replacements?

Bike looks great.

Hi AJC I like the Yellow and Black Wasp combination, always liked the Kenny Roberts Yamaha look too with the Black block lines on his Yamaha, classic. The mirrors are standard classic round mirror type. You can get really cheap plastic with chrome finish, I pay more and buy metal mirrors with chrome plate ,feel a lot more substantial and right compared to the light cheap plastic ones .Got mine from road and race online  on Ebay  about £17.99 I think.Cant post the link its verbotten, as I am a newbie yet:)

I think one of the mirrors had a left hand thread and I reused the adapter turning it into a RH thread I think, just double check yours before buying.

Wasnt going to pay silly UK prices for hugger, I bought an SV650 hugger from a place in Germany about £45 on the off chance I could get it to fit. Anyway by cutting a small piece off it and using a couple of tie wraps it fits over the existing plastic chain guard ok, was a bit risky really assuming I could get it to fit,but it looks ok.Had to drill a couple holes in it too to bolt to chain guard easy as only drilling plastic. You can see it in the first photo. Bought it from  Ricambi-Weiss  in germany on ebay uk.

I have a belly pan knocking around I cut to fit a Speed Triple I had , will see if it fits , looks right or not sometime. It pops and bangs with the MTC can but runs ok, and is gutsy and a bit noisey which is ok if not too loud:)

Thanks I'll have a look at my mirrors tonight. My bike came with tail tidy and hugger already fitted by dealer (he was using the bike himself at the time), so fortunately that's already done!

You could do the reverse with your bike with a yellow stripe:)  Not sure how that would look though, maybe a white stripe?

Quite happy with the black 'stealth' look just now, maybe thinking carbon (effect) mirrors, matching carbon effect tank protector....

Have you been on Korider.com forum? Worldwide Hyosung forum, quite a lot going on there, and loads of technical info.

Have you reduced your front sprocket by  1 tooth from 15 to 14, transformational , best mod by far , still has more than enough top end probably still over 120 mph. with mod.
